2.2 Approach to Learning
There are three hours’ workshop in each week.
Workshops are designed to introduce students to relevant theories and practices, provide students with the skills
required to successfully complete learning and assessment activities, and examine students learning outcomes when
necessary. Workshops also serve as a platform for the class to discuss and practice required skills and techniques,
for the groups to collaborate and report on the assignment, and for the teaching staff to examine students’ learning
outcomes. They are built on the concepts presented to further develop attainment of learning outcomes. These
learning outcomes are measured through the assessment activities.
Grouping for the group assignment is carried out via vUWS during Weeks 1 and 2. A vUWS group discussion
forum, together with other online collaboration tools, will be created exclusively for your team to facilitate your
collaboration outside workshop times.
