1) Pick and read a Play by ONE of the following playwrights: Rebecca Gilman , Sarah Ruhl, Neil LaBute Luis Valdez, Maria Irene Fornes, Tracy Letts Julia Cho, Naomi IIzuka, David Henry Hwang Arthur Miller, Yasmina Reza, Caryl Churchill, Lorraine Hansberry Suzanne Lori Parks, Sam Shepard, David Mamet, Tony Kushner Edward Albee, Eugene O’Neill, Donald Margulies, Tennessee Williams Paula Vogel, August Wilson, John Patrick Shanley David Lindsay-Abaire, Nilo Cruz, Lynn Nottage Ayad Akhtar, Jon Robin Baitz 2) Write a 6-8 page (1.5 spaces) report that includes: 3) Pick and read a second play by the same author, read it, and write no more than one page how similarities or connections between the two plays will influence your directing and/or design choices for your first play. 4) Include 10-15 research images related to: casting, visual references, mood, theme, period, place, culture, related art, design ideas, costuming.
