George Mason University Types of Meditation Practices Discussion

I need support with this Psychology question so I can learn better.

Commit to carving out a time to meditate (10 minutes or more) for the next 5 days. Avoid using meditation to help you fall asleep. Don’t associate meditation with sleep.

  • Find quiet place with minimal distractions
  • Sit in a comfortable, relaxed position
  • Gently close eyes or relax focus on something

You can choose to follow one of the specific types of meditation practices discussed in your book, follow along with a recording, or just focus on your breathing.

After the 5 days of meditation, write a reflection (250-300 words) on your experience with meditation. Ideas to focus on …. What type of meditation did you experiment with? Did you find it easy or difficult? How did you feel during and after the meditation? What things did you notice happening while you meditated (mental, emotional, physical)? Thoughts, concerns, or insights you had about your experience meditating.
