For the trapezoidal cross-section that you identified in Step 1, use Google Earth Pro to estimate the channel properties: Google Earth Pro has a strong Ruler tool. The tool has a tab, called Path by which you can measure the Length and it can Show Elevation Profile (useful for slope calculations). Next, use the Manning’s equation to solve for the yn (in feet) for the 8 values of the discharge rate (cfs) that you achieved using StremStats in Step 1. Lastly, compare the 8 values of the calculated yn against the channel’s maximum depth to determine which discharge scenarios would cause flooding in your area of interest (if yn is greater than ymax that means flooding would occur).
